We will start with showing the video of our visit to Cape Coast Castle in Ghana last year, where slaves were held in appalling conditions before being shipped across the Atlantic to the Americas.
This will be followed by a Panel discussion with
Shaykh Mohammed Nuru, who originated in Ghana and is Imam at Al Abbas Mosque
Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra, who participated in the visit and is Imam in Leicester
Bhai Sahib, Bhai Mohinder Singh Ahluwalia, Chairman, Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha (GNNSJ)
Claire Bowman, Quaker, and a member of the Birmingham of the Birmingham City of Sanctuary Board.
MC – Dr Peter Rookes, Joint Secretary, Birmingham Council of Faiths, who also participated in the visit to Cape Coast Castle.
Josef Boehle will speak about the Peace Charter for Forgiveness and Reconciliation
Letlapa Mphalele from South Africa will be invited to address us
We will conclude the event with an address from Cllr Nicky Brennan, Cabinet Member for Social Justice, Community Safety, and Equalities .
